## Core Architecture

Understand how Eso handles data and security before you invite your team.

### 1. The Resource Hierarchy

Eso uses a structured data model to keep your logistics clear. Everything is organized by **Organization** (your company), then broken down into **Clients**, **Projects**, and physical **Locations**.

### 2. Custom Inventory Fields

Don't be limited by standard tracking. Use our **Custom Field Defs** to add project-specific data like $PO$ numbers, $Vessel$ names, or $String$ IDs that automatically appear in your dashboard and on Packing Lists.

### 3. Granular Permissions & Scoping

Eso features a sophisticated security model. You can assign broad **Roles** (Admin, Member, Truck Broker), fine-tune them with **Permission Overrides**, and restrict visibility using **Resource Scopes** to ensure users only see the data relevant to their specific job site.
